Who is Evolv

The IT team West Michigan businesses never had time to hire.

Evolv is a Grand Rapids managed IT and cybersecurity company. We keep manufacturers and regulated firms with 20 to 100 people running, secure, and audit-ready, so owners get back to building the business instead of babysitting the network.

Why we exist

Too many good companies run on IT nobody owns.

Evolv started in Grand Rapids in late 2024 after years of seeing the same pattern across West Michigan. Strong companies, growing fast, with IT held together by one overloaded employee or a vendor who only showed up when something broke.

None of those companies were careless. They were busy making parts, serving clients, and making payroll. So we built the IT team they never had time to hire: local, accountable, and focused on keeping the business running.

What we find on Day 1

  • Backups showing a green checkmark, then failing on restore.
  • A spam filter blocking customer orders for weeks before anyone noticed.
  • An office manager doubling as the help desk.
  • A security questionnaire from the biggest customer, unanswered.
  • Admin passwords shared by half the company.

Every one of these came from a real client onboarding. Every one got fixed in the first month.

Who we serve

Companies with 20 to 100 people and no full-time IT department.

Primary focus

West Michigan manufacturers

Fabricators, machine shops, fixture builders, and toolmakers. We keep the shop floor network, the ERP, and the front office running, and we help you answer the supplier security questionnaires and CMMC requirements your customers now send.

How we work

The standard we hold ourselves to.

Owners in this market have been trained to expect anonymous tickets and shifted blame. We built Evolv to run the other way.

A named person, not a ticket queue.

Your contact knows your network, your software vendors, and your people by name. You get a response within four business hours.

Fix the cause.

If the same ticket shows up twice, we failed the first time. We hunt the root problem so your team stops losing the same hour every week.

Proof in writing.

We document MFA, backups, and patching so you hand an auditor or insurer a report instead of a promise.

One flat monthly price.

Priced by users and locations, in writing, before you sign. Routine work never shows up as a surprise invoice.

Plain English.

You hear what the risk is, what it costs if ignored, and what we recommend. No acronym soup.

The team

Local leadership. Deep bench.

Evolv was founded by Reese Robertson, a 15-year technology veteran from Grand Rapids. Today a 10-person team brings more than 200 combined years across cybersecurity, IT operations, compliance, and AI strategy.

Every client gets a named lead who owns the relationship, backed by specialists in security, networking, Microsoft 365, and compliance. You never explain your setup twice.

Where we're going

Building the security-first IT partner for growing Midwest companies.
